Our Verdict
Honda's market dominance in the Philippines translates to practical benefits for owners: widespread dealer network, readily available parts, and minimal downtime for repairs - making it a safe choice for everyday riders despite potentially higher upfront costs.
Honda Philippines, Inc. (HPI) doesn’t just participate in the local motorcycle market; they essentially are the market. According to fiscal reports ending March 2025, they now hold a commanding 55% market share, having moved nearly a million units in just twelve months. For the average rider, this statistic matters more than horsepower or torque.
Why? Because market dominance equals parts availability. When you buy a niche brand, a broken clutch cable can mean three weeks of downtime waiting for an import. When you buy a Honda, the parts are likely sitting on a shelf in one of the 185+ authorized dealers spread across 90 cities right now.
However, the sticker price is rarely the final cost. From the new CB1000 Hornet to the electric EM1 e:, here is the interpreted data on pricing and ownership for late 2025.
The Interactive Price Explorer (December 2025 Update)
We have updated the tool below with the verified Suggested Retail Prices (SRP) as of December 28, 2025. Note the significant updates to the Big Bike category and the new electric vehicle pricing structures.
Many first time Honda buyers are surprised when they take their new motorcycle in for its first free service and are handed a bill. This is a common point of friction that you need to be aware of.
Here is the reality of the “Free Service Coupon” (FSC):
For Commuter Bikes (150cc and below): You get 3 coupons. These cover the labor fee of the mechanic. You must still pay for the oil, the washer, and any other consumables.
For Big Bikes (500cc and up): You get 5 coupons. These are more comprehensive and typically cover both the service fee and selected maintenance parts/engine oil.
Just like when buying electronics from abroad (see our guide on Sony New Zealand for a comparison of warranty complexities), you must clarify coverage before money changes hands. If a dealer claims everything is free, ask for it in writing.
Electric Vehicles: The Price of Early Adoption
Late 2025 has seen Honda push harder into the EV space with the EM1 e:. However, the pricing structure can be confusing if you aren’t paying attention.
The Base Unit (₱94,900): This is just the scooter. It does not run without the battery.
The Complete Package (₱155,400): This includes the Honda Mobile Power Pack e: (battery) and the charger.
Unless you are a fleet operator with existing batteries, the “low” base price is irrelevant. You are paying ₱155k for an electric scooter. For context, you could buy two Honda BeATs for that price.
Maintenance Costs: Street Smarts
Authorized service is generally reliable, but it isn’t always the cheapest option. However, sticking to authorized dealers is critical for maintaining your warranty.
Standard PMS: Expect to pay around ₱300–₱500 for standard labor (outside of coupons).
The CVT Promo: Motortrade, one of the largest dealer networks, has been running a CVT cleaning service for ₱300 throughout late 2025. This is a “hidden gem” servicedoing this every 5,000km can save you from a ₱5,000 transmission repair later.
Be wary of unauthorized shops for modern Fuel Injected (Fi) units. Just as we warn readers about unverified online sellers like Interconnect Shop, we warn riders about mechanics who don’t have the proper diagnostic tools for Honda’s PGM Fi system.
Final Verdict: Which Honda Should You Buy in 2026?
The market has shifted. With the Batangas plant hitting its 9-millionth production unit in August 2025, local support is stronger than ever. Here is our curated advice:
The Value King: The Click125 (₱81,900) remains the unbeatable standard for liquid cooled reliability.
The Commuter’s Choice: The PCX 160 (₱133,400) has seen a slight price bump but offers the best comfort for Manila’s potholes.
The Dream Bike: The newly launched CB1000 Hornet (₱750,000) undercuts many European rivals while offering a massive performance jump over the CB650R.
Just remember: Whether you are buying PlayStations in Germany or Motorcycles in Makati, the lowest price often comes with the highest risk. Buy from authorized dealers, keep your service coupons, and ride safe.
