Spotify Vietnam Pricing & Plans: The 2026 Expat Guide

May 13, 2022 3 min read Abdullah Habib

Vietnam currently offers one of the most affordable Spotify Premium rates in the world, costing roughly $2.50 USD per month. For expats and locals alike, this price point makes it an obvious choice over Apple Music or YouTube Premium. However, the platform operates differently here than in Western markets, specifically regarding plan availability and payment methods.

If you are accustomed to sharing a subscription with your household, you need to know the limitations before you try to upgrade. Here is the no nonsense guide to navigating Spotify Vietnam as we head into 2026.

The Missing Plans: What You Need to Know

Before we look at prices, we must address the most common frustration for new users in Vietnam. As of late 2025, Spotify does not officially offer Premium Family or Premium Duo plans in Vietnam.

Unlike other Southeast Asian hubssuch as those detailed in our guide to Online Electronics Stores in Singapore—Vietnam’s storefront is limited to Individual and Student accounts. If you see third-party sellers offering “Family Upgrades” on social media, proceed with caution, as these are often unauthorized workarounds that can lead to account suspension.

Spotify Vietnam Price List (Updated December 2025)

In September 2025, Spotify adjusted its pricing for the first time in years. While still incredibly cheap by international standards, the rates have increased slightly.

1. Premium Individual

  • Price: 65,000 VND / month (approx. $2.55 USD)
  • Prepaid Options: You can stack months if you don’t want a recurring billing cycle (195,000 VND for 3 months or 650,000 VND for 1 year).
  • Trial Offer: New users can currently get 3 months for just 33,000 VND (valid until Dec 31, 2025).

2. Premium Student

This is arguably the best value deal in digital entertainment right now.

  • Price: 33,000 VND / month
  • Requirements: You must be over 18 and enrolled in an accredited university. Verification is handled strictly through SheerID and must be renewed annually (up to 4 years max).

What Happened to the Mini Plan?

Previously, Spotify offered daily and weekly “Mini” plans for as little as 2,300 VND. As of December 2025, these options have been removed from the primary subscription page. Users looking for short-term commitment should opt for the prepaid Individual options instead.

How to Pay: Navigating Vietnamese Payment Gateways

If you don’t have a local credit card, paying for digital services can be tricky. Just as we advise when navigating Wholesale Markets in Hong Kong, knowing the local payment preference is key.

  • E Wallets (Recommended): MoMo and ZaloPay are the standard here. They frequently offer cashback or discounted trials (e. g., 3 months for 32,500 VND via MoMo).
  • Convenience Stores: You can buy physical top up codes at Circle K, Co.opmart, and WinMart.

Spotify Gift Cards: The “Gotchas”

Gift cards are widely available at electronics retailers and convenience stores, but they come with strict conditions that often trip up buyers.

  • Compatibility: Gift cards can ONLY be used for the standalone Premium Individual plan. You cannot use them to pay for Student plans or discounted trial offers.
  • Expiration: The good news is that policies have improvedcards are now valid for 5 years from the date of purchase (up from the previous 1-year limit).
  • Region Lock: A card bought in Vietnam can only be redeemed on a Vietnamese account. You cannot buy a cheap card here and use it on a US or UK account.
