Retail therapy in the Netherlands doesn’t have to drain your bank account. While high street prices in Amsterdam and Rotterdam can be steep, the country boasts a robust network of designer outlets that smart shoppers use to save up to 70%.
However, not all outlets are created equal. Some are massive cities of luxury, while others are specialized warehouses that require a car to reach. We have curated the list of the ones actually worth your time, cutting through the noise to get you the best deals.

The Heavy Hitters: Major Outlets
1. Designer Outlet Roermond
If you only visit one outlet, make it this one. Designer Outlet Roermond is the undisputed heavyweight of the region. With 185 stores and 25 restaurants, it is the largest designer outlet in the Benelux and Germany.
The Curator’s Take: This is where you go for high-end luxury. Think Gucci, Prada, Burberry, and Armani. It is located in the south, roughly halfway between Eindhoven and Maastricht, making it a hotspot for cross border shoppers from Germany.
Practical Tips for 2026:
- Go Early: This place gets packed. Serious shoppers arrive at opening.
- Opening Hours: It is open daily until 8:00 PM (9:00 PM on weekends). Note that it closes early (5:00 PM) on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, and is closed completely on Christmas Day.
2. Batavia Stad Fashion Outlet
Located in Lelystad, Batavia Stad is the oldest outlet in the Netherlands and remains a crowd favorite. It features 150 stores and over 250 international brands, including Hugo Boss and Michael Kors. It is also a great spot to pick up premium chocolatesspeaking of which, check out our guide to Dutch chocolatiers if you have a sweet tooth.
Warning: The Shuttle Has Changed
Many older guides will tell you there is a daily shuttle from Amsterdam Central (de Ruijterkade). This is outdated information. As of late 2025, the shuttle service is limited to specific dates (mostly weekends/holidays) and departs from ‘This is Holland’ in Amsterdam North. Always check the schedule before you go, or simply take the train to Lelystad Centrum and hop on a local bus.
3. Amsterdam The Style Outlets
This is the most accessible outlet for city dwellers. Located at the SugarCity site in Halfweg, it is the first outlet center in the Randstad area. It currently hosts over 100 stores, including heavy hitters like Nike, Adidas, and Karl Lagerfeld.
Why go here? Convenience. You don’t need a car. It is a simple 10-minute train ride from Amsterdam Central Station to Halfweg Zwanenburg station, which drops you right at the entrance. It is modern, sleek, and perfect for a half day trip.
4. Designer Outlet Roosendaal
Think of Roosendaal as Roermond’s more relaxed cousin. It is smaller, with over 90 stores, but it offers a much calmer shopping experience. Located about 30 minutes from Rotterdam and Antwerp, it’s an excellent strategic stop if you are traveling between the Netherlands and Belgium.
The center is expanding, having reported record growth recently, so expect the brand list to keep improving through 2026. Discounts consistently hit the 30-70% mark.
Specialized & Niche Outlets
Just Brands Factory Outlet
This isn’t a mall; it’s a dedicated destination for men’s denim and casual wear. Located at the Akerpoort in Amsterdam (Ookmeerweg 406), this 1,000 m² store is a goldmine for fans of PME Legend, Vanguard, and Cast Iron.
If you want rugged, aviation inspired clothing without paying full retail, this is your spot. Expect 30% to 70% off. It’s strictly for the “Just Brands” portfolio, so don’t expect other labels here.
Maxaro (Home & Living)
Maxaro is not for fashion; it is for renovation. If you are redoing a bathroom in the Netherlands, you likely already know this name. Located in Roosendaal (separate from the Designer Outlet), their massive 5,000 m² showroom specializes in sanitary ware and tiles.
Forget the company historywhat matters to you is the scale. They have a massive stock and a dedicated pickup warehouse, making it one of the most efficient places to source bathroom fixtures instantly.
Parisienne Shop (The 9 Streets)
Technically, this is a boutique rather than a factory outlet, but it is a staple for affordable luxury jewelry in Amsterdam. Located at Berenstraat 26 in the famous “9 Streets” district, Parisienne is known for its massive wall of earrings.
It’s the perfect pitstop if you are walking the canals and want a unique accessory without the designer price tag. They refresh their collection monthly, so there is always something new on the wall.
